“I create bold, textural works that explore memory, vulnerability, and what it means to feel fully alive.”

Refuge is a series of 3D layered artworks, conceived as a sanctuary from the complexities and clamor of everyday life. Inspired by my frequent retreats to the desert—a place where I look for clarity and reassess my life's direction—these pieces capture the profound tranquility and introspective power of sparse landscapes.

MEET THE ARTIST

ROB GRAD

As a child of divorce, and a teenager who wrestled with depression, I was forced to ask the big questions in life at an early age. I’ve always wanted to not just survive, but to thrive. To pull something positive from my experiences. Collectors often tell me that my work is a source of hope and inspiration.

With a growing body of work exhibited in museums, galleries, public installations, and live experiences, Grad’s mission is to awaken spirit, ignite creative freedom, and build connection—one piece at a time.

EXPERIENTIAL INSTALLATION

This clip is from my multi-media experience, featuring selections from my “There’s Nothing Here, Except Everything” collection set amongst my poems which inspired much of the work, hand drawn on the walls along with a soundtrack of my musical performances of the poems.

TEDx TALK

This TEDx talk I gave documents my journey from signed, touring musician to visual artist. Spawned by a solo trip to Paris that changed everything, and a lyric that came to me while walking along the Seine River.
