SCULPTURES
OVERVIEW
My sculptural work is born from a need for stillness, grace and connection in a world that moves fast– overflowing with noise, urgency and constant motion. It is deeply rooted in nature which I see as the great equalizer. Every year, millions of people flock to national parks, and the viewpoints up the Pacific Coast Highway are bustling with visitors. This universal pull towards nature reflects our innate connection to the natural world—a space that not only showcases grandeur and beauty but also serves as a sanctuary for inspiration, thinking, and reflection.
Growing up in a turbulent environment led me to grapple with existential questions from an early age. Consequently, my art has become a pursuit of meaning, joy, and a quest for wisdom that enables me to find grace amidst chaos, strength in instability, and resilience in an ever-changing world.
THE BEGINNING STAGES
The initial phase of my creative process involves crafting abstract drawings that embody the spirit, flow, and self-expression witnessed in nature, whether it be a tree, or even the patterns in the movement of subatomic particles. Translated into sculpture, these works embody biomorphic forms— flowing, organic shapes that reflect nature’s internal currents rather than its surface. I strive to channel the essence of nature and the profound connection it evokes within us.
